Home Energy AuditMake your energy dollars go furtherAn energy audit is a part of your annual precision efficiency tune-up on your oil heating system. Upon completion of your tune-up, our technician will hand you a heating system report card. Our report will show you how your system is performing and will have some specific recommendations to improve your energy efficiency. A home energy audit is the first step to assess how much energy your home consumes and to evaluate what measures you can take to make your home more energy efficient. An audit will show you problems that may, when corrected, save you significant amounts of money over time. An audit may also show you ways to conserve hot water. Our recommendations may include; an outside reset control, a primary control programmer, a set-back thermostat, an add-on hot water maker, and more frequent replacement of your air filter (hot air systems only). If our technician determines your system needs replacement, our service manager will use our energy savings calculator to determine the best system configuration for your home. The Federal Government is offering considerable financial incentives to help homeowners make the necessary energy efficiency upgrades to their homes. On February 17, 2009, The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 was passed and made some significant changes to the energy efficiency tax credits. Through December 31, 2010; homeowners can receive a tax credit of up to $1500 on qualifying energy upgrades. |
