BioHeat® The fuel of the future is here!
In January 2011, Westmore Fuel began delivering B10 BioHeat® to all our customers. What does this mean to you? Well, if you're a New York resident, you can apply for a 10-cent per gallon tax credit.
In January 2012, Westmore Fuel began delivering B20 BioHeat® to all our customers. This means our New York customers can apply for a 20-cent per gallon tax credit the following year. Westmore Fuel doesn't charge a penny extra for our BioHeat®. What is BioHeat®? It is conventional heating oil mixed with biodiesel to make various blends of BioHeat®. B10 equates to 10% biodiesel and B20 is the designation for a blend of 20% biodiesel. Westmore Fuel has been slowly increasing our bio percentage blend since June 2008.
Delivering BioHeat® has reduced service calls, kept oil filters and tanks cleaner, and improved the efficiency of our customers' heating system. Cleaner burning fuel means less oil to heat your home. In this economy, making your energy dollars go further has never been more important. BioHeat® produces 75 percent less sulfur emissions, 12 percent less nitrogen oxide emissions, and 10 percent less carbon dioxide emissions. BioHeat® is also produced right here in the USA. It's a great way to decrease our country's dependence on oil from foreign sources.
