Westmore Fuel General Manager Rick Bologna notes, “Every drop of biodiesel we sell means less reliance on foreign oil. Of course we’re fuel dealers, but we wanted to do something good for the environment and the country’s energy security.  I’m the third generation of our family in the business, and want to leave the planet a better place for my own kids.”

“Westmore Fuel, your motto could be, ‘making the world a better place,’ because, since 1938, you company has made this community a better place.” said Port Chester Mayor Dennis Pilla.

Tom Barrone of NYSERDA remarked, “The transportation sector accounts for more than 78 percent of the fossil fuels consumed in New York State. Governor Cuomo has stressed the importance of investing in energy efficiency and cleaner technologies to protect the residents and businesses in our communities as well as our environment. By helping Westmore Fuel expand its biodiesel facilities, we can broaden the use and acceptance of this fuel, while adding an element of renewability to a dwindling and costly resource.”

Made with 100% North American recycled fats and oils as a feedstock, the biodiesel is supplied by Ultra Green Energy Services, LLC, a leading Northeast distributor. The Westmore terminal expands the distribution area of biodiesel into southern Westchester and Fairfield counties, and serves as an important linchpin for the overall infrastructure base for biodiesel in the metro New York area.

Ultra Green Energy Service Vice President, Michael Cooper notes: “Ultra Green Energy Services is very proud to have been Westmore Fuel’s sole supplier of biodiesel since 2008. As business owners, Dick and Rick Bologna have taken action and invested money to include biodiesel in all their products. As industry leaders they have led by example to improve the quality and image of the fuels they sell, as biodiesel blends positively impact national supply and the future of liquid fuels.  Ultra Green Energy Services salutes Westmore Fuel’s investment and upgrade to blend biodiesel at their Port Chester, NY terminal. We look forward to years of continued success working with the Bolognas and Westmore Fuel.”
